Broadband added by Marion Row
We have just joined TalkTalk and so far we are only getting 100kb on broadband. After reading a letter to the wrawby magazine the contributer said he had been in contact with talktalk and they had increased his speed to 3MB. Can he please let me know who to contact, I know TalkTalk is free but this is very little better than dial up. We live on Melton Road past Mill Lane.

Broadband in Wrawby added by Website admins
If Wrawby broadband speed depends on distance from the (Brigg) exchange a mile or so to the west - why is Melton Road BT providing 5mb. Could BT therefore be a preferred supplier? . . . . The alternative is for Wrawby to set up its own satellite hub for broadband. It's cheaper and faster!

Neighbourhood Policing added by Website admins webadmin@wrawby.org.uk

At the Neighbourhood Policing meeting Tuesday December 11th, previously announced on the Wrawby website, there were encouraging crime reduction numbers and there are ongoing concerns in the North Lincolnshire community about anti-social behaviour. There has been a recent escalation in sneak-in burglaries, said Inspector Brett Rutty who looks after 'Rural Commnunities.' 'That means thieves enter the premises while the occupants are elsewhere in the building,' says Insp Rutty. Be vigilant at this time of year when there are more high value items in the home, he said.
Taken from www.thisisbrigg.co.uk Two new ways in which members of the public can raise issues of concern with Brigg police were employed at a public meeting, held in the town's Angel Suite. Before the public part of the Brigg Police Authority Neighbourhood Panel's quarterly meeting, an hour-long police surgery was held, during which people could talk 'one-to-one' - and in strict confidence - to police officers. Then, once the public meeting got under way, special cards were given out, allowing residents to write down their concerns for the police to investigate or consider. Both developments are in response to the belief some people are wary of raising matters in public. The initial police surgery was 'well used' - with eight people attending. Clerk to the panel, Group Capt Paul Ryan, said the 'anonymous card system' was 'just another mechanism trying to embrace more and more people into the dialogue'. At the end of the meeting, a small pile of completed cards built up on his desk, left there by people with issues of concern. The Brigg Neighbourhood Panel covers not only the market town, but Broughton, Kirton in Lindsey and the neighbouring villages, stretching as far as Messingham, Appleby and Howsham. The police surgery and card system are both being encouraged by Insp Brett Rutty, head of policing for Brigg and the surrounding rural areas. Both methods are expected to play a part when the Brigg panel next convene, at their meeting on Tuesday, March 11, in the Angel Suite.
